Sen. Rand Paul Favors Liberty Over Vaccine Mandates

U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky expressed his opposition to government mandates forcing people to vaccinate themselves and their children. At a hearing of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on Mar. 5, 2019, he was the only Senator or invited witness at the hearing who made a statement urging caution about the creation of vaccine laws that contain no personal belief exemptions.

Sen. Paul said, “As we contemplate forcing parents, I think it’s important to remember that force is not consistent with the American story. Nor is force consistent with the liberty our forefathers sought when they came to America.”1 2

Sen. Paul, who is a medical doctor, noted that vaccines come with some risk and that at least for that reason people should have a choice as to whether to be vaccinated. He noted, “It is wrong to say that there are no risks to vaccines. Even the government admits that children are sometimes injured by vaccines.” Since the federal Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) created by Congress under the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA) began operating in 1988, more than $4 billion has been paid to vaccine victims by the government.1 2

Sen. Paul appeared concerned about the relative lack of informed consent accorded to parents when it comes to vaccinating their children. He said, “Despite the government admitting to paying $4 billion for vaccine injuries, no informed consent is used or required when you vaccinate your child. This may be the only medical procedure in today’s medical world where an informed consent is not required.”1

One of the problems Sen. Paul sees with government mandates with regard to childhood vaccines such as the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) is the precedence they set for other vaccines. “Are we to find that next we’ll be mandating flu vaccines?” asked Paul.”1 He warned:

I would guess that those who want to mandate measles [vaccine] will be after us on the flu next. Yet, the current science only allows for educated guessing when it comes to the flu vaccine. Each year, before that year’s flu strain is known, scientists put their best guess into that year’s vaccine. Some years it’s completely wrong. We vaccinate for the wrong strain of flu… Yet, five states already mandate flu vaccines. Is it really appropriate to mandate a vaccine that, more often than not, vaccinates for the wrong flu strain?1

Sen. Paul said he did not “favor giving up on liberty for a false sense of security.”1 2

Praise the Lord for Senator Paul Rand! I wish all of Congress had the back bone to stand up for clearly the right reason to allow people the freedom to choices of what we allow to be put into our bodies! God in his infinite wisdom gave mother earth all the tools and natural remedies to cure every so called vaccine preventable disease the proof is homeopathic medicine…..why does the majority of Americans trust synthetic man made medicine when natural medicine is provided for every illness……don’t sell out……do your research it’s not just vaccines that injure its all kinds of medicines with horrible side effects. No doctor can tell you how a vaccine will react in your body they do not know it is a miracle if you live a normal life after inoculation. Also the money paid out by vaccine injury court that is paid by TAX PAYERS not pharmaceutical companies that caused the poisonous damage!

I read the one of the most frequently damaging vaccines in 2019 is the Flu Vaccine. I do not know which version and suspect they are all a problem.
I will take my chances on the flu.

Thank God for Rand Paul. His statement was wonderful, except that I was disappointed to hear him say that he believes in vaccines and had his own children vaccinated. I wonder if they did a delayed schedule, or only had one dose at any one doctor’s visit. Overall, the hearing was horrible. A real set-up to pressure states to eliminate religious exemptions from vaccines.

I have a 3 year old child – – WHO HAS NEVER HAD A NEEDLE OF “VACCINES” in his arm!!! WE HAVE SO MANY FRIENDS WHO HAVE AUTISTIC CHILDREN who feel that their children were injured from vaccines.

Totally agree with Senator Paul. We do not want to set precedents of this kind. Think of the recent advances in medicine. Think of those which were unleashed, then recommended, then, later in some locales, forced upon vulnerable populations (e.g. – HPV vaccine, Flu vaccines, etc.).
It would be a very small step from these seemingly benign intrusions, to being forced to implant a tracking device or a gene altering product or who knows else that may come into existence. Do you trust Pharma to protect your human rights? I don’t.

Things come upon us gradually and then rapidly. We shouldn’t even open the door even a tiny crack to those insisting upon one “small” compromise of your beliefs, because they will quickly begin insisting you open the door all the way, allowing them to fully compromise of your beliefs. Much of their insistence will be based on lining the pockets of Pharma CEOs traversing through government revolving doors to generate profits with no regard for you or your well-being.

Rand Paul has always tried to play both side of the fence. In 2015 when he stated:

“that vaccinations could lead to “profound mental disorders” and that parents “should have some input”.

When he got push back from the industry and he back peddled:

“I did not say vaccines caused disorders, just that they were temporally related – I did not allege causation,” Paul said in a statement. “I support vaccines, I receive them myself and I had all of my children vaccinated. In fact today, I received the booster shot for the vaccines I got when I went to Guatemala last year.”

When he receives unfavorable press, he’ll back peddle again. He may have made a statement for medical autonomy but you won’t see him out there fighting for it like congressman Posey or Burton. He’ll never go that far.

It’s ok to have someone who’s at least cautious about vaccines who’s playing on both sides of the fence. Sometimes you need that to bridge the huge gap between us and the vaccine pushers. Let’s show this senator our gratitude for speaking up. And when it comes down to it, we the people need to show up in Washington and in our states to fight for our liberty.

Praise the Lord – a Senator that isn’t being bought out by the big pharma. This scares the heck out of me. I feel this is infringing on our right to our own bodies.
It is socialism at it’s worst. When they control our medical they control our lives.
What is next? Seriously we have to think about that. They are indoctrinating our children in colleges to forsake our history because a few students don’t like it. I don’t care if they don’t like it or not. It is our history just that. If you don’t like it leave. I am NOT willing to adhere to this tyranny. They are trying to make a generation of robots who go along with whatever they say. FIGHT this, FIGHT them all.

Polio, smallpox, measles are not trifling diseases to which natural immunity develops, without putting the entire population at risk. Recent measles outbreaks in Washington, New York and other States are illustrative of the public health risk that exists when unvaccinated children are admitted to schools and pith other children at serious health risk. Freedom of choice does not mean there can be an abdication of responsibility. Parents have an obligation not only to protect their children but also other children.

Thank God someone saw through the pretext of this ill-conceived meeting. Make no mistake, this was not about vaccines, their efficacy, or even a true debate over their benefit. It was about parental rights, and whether or not we feel that the government has the right to force a medical procedure on a minor child whose diligently informed parent has specifically refused consent. What a slippery slope it is toward which we are heading! Thank you, Rand Paul, and may God bless you for your service.

I totally agree with Sen. Rand Paul, M.D. Two days ago the NY Times published a fraudulently done study claiming “One More Time, With Big Data: Measles Vaccine Doesn’t Cause Autism”
Sounded crazy so I researched it.
These are biased studies. 1) researched by and paid for by the vaccine companies (this one is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and research completed by Danish vaccine maker Statens Serum Institut.) 2) medical journal editors own stock in these companies 3) only the MMR was studied (even though children received many other vaccinations previously) 4) children with preexisting conditions didn’t get the MMR and were kept out of the study and they were used as a control as being “unvaccinated” (but they received many other vaccines) Aluminum adjuvents in various vaccinations are cumulative 5) the national register in Denmark is unreliable, according to published science:
Less than two years ago, a study was published showing the inconsistencies of the Danish National Register, which is the dataset used in this study. 6) Healthy User Bias (Healthy people are more likely to choose to be vaccinated; those with chronic diseases or health issues tend to avoid the risk of vaccination; those who choose vax tend to have other healthy behaviors, i.e. diet, exercise, regular screening).
NOTE: Here in the U.S. we’re at 1 in 36! Shouldn’t CDC researchers rush to Denmark to figure out why their autism rate is so much lower than ours? For every 1,000 Danish kids, only 10 have autism. But here in the U.S., we have 28 per 1,000–that’s 177% more autism! ****J.B. Handley, a blogger and parent of an autistic child’s own personal theory as to why the Danes have a lower autism rate (1) They do NOT give the Hepatitis B vaccine. No kids in this study received that vaccine, and the Chinese recently showed Hep B vaccine causes brain damage in mice. (2) The Danes also do NOT give the Rotavirus vaccine or flu vaccine. (The much lower vaccination requirement of Danish children versus American children is NOT mentioned anywhere in the study.) In 21 of 24 autism studies including this study’s researcher, A. Hviid, has a co-author ( on many of his studies), Poal Thorsen, who worked as a visiting scientist at CDC, Division of Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, BEFORE the grant was awarded. Thorsen is a crook.

Poal Thorsen, is now a most wanted by the FBI for stealing over $1 Million grant money and not doing the research. From approximately February 2004 until February 2010, Poul Thorsen executed a scheme to steal grant money awarded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). CDC had awarded grant money to Denmark for research involving infant disabilities, autism, genetic disorders, and fetal alcohol syndrome. CDC awarded the grant to fund studies of the relationship between autism and the exposure to vaccines. In April 2011, Thorsen was indicted on 22 counts of Wire Fraud and Money Laundering. According to bank account records, Thorsen purchased a home in Atlanta, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, an Audi automobile, and a Honda SUV with funds that he received from the CDC grants.

    Rick;
Smallpox vaccine was never needed according to the foremost authority on smallpox Dr. Thomas Mack. When President Bush was contemplating mandating Smallpox vaccination for Americans when he started the Gulf War the CDC and Washington turned to Mack for professional and scientific insights based on his years of studying the disease on site. I will link to the FDA paper which has been removed from the FDA website because it goes against the current CDC/Pharma/FDA conspiracy theory they are perpetuating right now but I will post the most important point he made in his presentation:

ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON IMMUNIZATION PRACTICES Atlanta Marriott Century Center The verbatim transcript of the Meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices held at the Atlanta Marriott Century Center, Atlanta, Georgia, on June 19 and 20, 2002. http://www.vaclib.org/news/drmacks.htm

“If people are worried about endemic smallpox, it disappeared from this country not because of our mass herd immunity. It disappeared because of our economic development. And that’s why it disappeared from Europe and many other countries, and it will not be sustained here, even if there were several importations, I’m sure. It’s not from universal vaccination.” Dr. Thomas Mack

The Salk Polio vaccine was removed from distribution because it was causing Polio. -In 1976, Dr. Jonas Salk, creator of the killed-virus vaccine used in the 1950s, testified that the live-virus vaccine (used almost exclusively in the U.S. from the early 1960s to 2000) was the “principal if not sole cause” of all reported polio cases in the U.S. since 1961. (The virus remains in the throat for one to two weeks and in the feces for up to two months. Thus, vaccine recipients are at risk, and can potentially spread the disease, as long as fecal excretion of the virus continues).

To demonstrate the fact that the Polio Vaccine doesn’t prevent polio there is a man in India who has been shedding live polio viruses into the environment for 28 years.

*A study published in 2015 by the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control in the United Kingdom revealed the case of a British man who was vaccinated with the oral polio vaccine (OPV) as a child and has been shedding live mutated poliovirus in his feces for the last 28 years.
Whiteman H. Man sheds deadly polio virus in feces for 28 years. Medical News Today Aug. 28, 2015.

-Albert Sabin, the inventor of the live-virus oral polio vaccine, 30 years after inventing the vaccine, admitted “official data has shown that the large scale vaccinations undertaken in the U.S. have failed to obtain any significant improvement of the diseases for which they were supposed to provide immunization. In essence it was and is a failure”.

-In 1992, the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published an admission that the live-virus vaccine had become the dominant cause of polio in the United States. In fact, according to CDC figures, every case of polio in the U.S. since 1979 was caused by the oral polio vaccine.
After the CDC’s admission that every case of polio in the U.S. since 1979 was caused by the oral polio vaccine, “Public outrage at these tragedies became the impetus for removing the oral polio vaccine from immunization schedules”

Dr. Alton Ochsner was a major stockholder and the past president of the American Cancer Society. He was so convinced of the vaccine that he pulled the entire medical staff together at Tulane University, he vaccinated his grandchildren, his grandson died in 48 hours, and his granddaughter got polio and was paralyzed temporarily. Here is a news article on the sad event: https://www.nytimes.com/1955/05/05/archives/bulbar-polio-kills-doctors-grandson.html

“Why not refer persons to the WHO, CDC or any local Department of Health or medical university to get accurate information.”

What I am posting are reports and studies by vaccine scientist who work for either the CDC, FDA or one of the many prestigious medical centers that work with those entities. It’s a big club with a revolving door.

I’m amused at your faith in the CDC, probably the FDA and other government agencies. It was the FDA, Merck, CDC that approved Vioxx that caused 27,000 HEART Attacks and they knew it would happen but put it on the market anyway. GSK sister company of Merck put AVANDIA on the market knowing it would cause Heart Attacks got approval from those entities you have faith in. 83,000 people had attacks. You apparently have faith in the medical profession. The same profession that used to promote cigarette smoking in TV commercials for the tobacco Industry.
Old Ad: More Doctors Smoke Camels! Cigarette Tobacco Commercial 1960 1970 TV Television – BizBOXTV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-D0gJiJmsc. It is a know fact that the Tobacco Industry faked the science, so the vaccine makers decided to do it too. That’s why many who oppose vaccine call the industry vaccine science tobacco science.

Merck makes most of the vaccines on the market. There are doctors who would speak out on the damage they see in children from vaccines, but they are afraid of being “Wakefielded’. Merck is known to ruin careers of doctors who oppose their agenda.
Drug Giant Merck – “Destroy” Critical Doctors “Where They Live” Posted on October 12, 2009 by ChildHealthSafety https://childhealthsafety.wordpress.com/2009/10/12/merckdestroydoccritics/
Court evidence now available on-line at the University of California library shows drug giant Merck systematically targetted “hit-lists” of doctors to discredit, neutralise or destroy critics of the safety and effectiveness of Merck’s drugs.

Rick-“Freedom of choice does not mean there can be an abdication of responsibility. Parents have an obligation not only to protect their children but also other children.”

The only responsibility parents have is to protect their own children. They are not responsible for anyone’s else child and what goes on in other people’s lives is none of their business. Medical Autonomy, Informed Consent and the right to refuse are the hallmarks of a free and ethical society. No parent should ever be pressured by society or the government to submit to a barbaric practice, on the basis of speculation, to risk their child’s health in the hope it may protect someone else’s child. That would be irresponsible.

Sen Paul is a hero. Sadly, his message seems to be falling on deaf ears.

I have the right to informed consent (for me or my child). That means I have the right to determine what medical procedures are done to me. That right is mine. Always has been. Always must be. I’m the one who has to live with the consequences. Give me full disclosure and I’ll decide if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.

Let’s get one thing straight: Once vaccine injured (me or my child), no financial compensation can make things right.

If I am forced to submit to an unwanted medical procedure, where does it end? I become a ward of the state. The logical extension is horrifying to consider.

Are you aware that humanity has persevered in the face of plague for as long as plague has existed? Did you know that mom’s who survive a viral illness have immunity to said illness and then confer that immunity to their children as long as they are breastfeeding them exclusively? Does it make sense then that they survive it when they are the most vulnerable to it? Moms breastfed their children much longer as well. Does it make sense that this was how humanity has survived and continued for as long as humanity has been around? But when you take the natural immunity out of the moms, then what happens? Does no conferred immunity (by plague exposure and natural immune system response) mean that we depend on a human created system to artificially decide when we should or shouldn’t survive a plague by conferring immunity on the people it chooses to survive? Is that wise? Will the system choose you to receive a vaccine when it really matters? For example, if a generation born from 2000-2014 is given immunity to a certain strain of measles that no previous generations have been vaccinated for and there is also no natural immunity in the population, what happens if a deadly version of that strain of measles is unleashed? Wouldn’t only that generation survive? Wouldnt that effectively wipe out all people over the age of 18? Scary thought?
