The Prospect of a Third Dose of MMR

How does that wonderful quote about insanity go again? Oh yeah… “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” It’s a quote that is commonly but mistakenly attributed to Albert Einstein. It appears the more accurate source may be author Rita Mae Brown in her 1983 book “Sudden Death.”1 2 3

The saying has become a cliché, but it still rings true to me. Of course, not all repetition is a negative thing and, thus, potentially insane. Some repetitive actions can be very positive. Perseverance, for example, can be characterized by qualities such as consistency and loyalty. These kind of qualities, writes clinical psychologist Ryan Howes, PhD are “beneficial to health and definitely not insane.” He adds, “Perseverance feels like striving toward a noble goal, and whether or not it’s reached it there is virtue in the effort.”2

But perseverance is different from perseveration, which is a psychiatric term defined as “the pathological, persistent repetition of a word, gesture, or act, often associated with brain damage or schizophrenia.”4 Dr. Howes states, “Perseveration feels compulsive, hopeless, helpless, automatic and unsatisfying. There is a desire to stop, but stopping doesn’t feel like an option.”2

In October 2012, the journal Pediatrics published a study titled “Impact of a Third Dose of Measles-Mumps-Rubella Vaccine on a Mumps Outbreak.”5 More recently, on Sept. 7, 2017, The New England Journal of Medicine published another similar study titled “Effectiveness of a Third Dose of MMR Vaccine for Mumps Outbreak Control.”6

The studies were conducted, at least in part, out of concern over the continuing outbreaks of mumps among high school and college students in the United States despite the curious fact that the vast majority of them (in some cases as high as 97 percent and even 100 percent) had been fully vaccinated with two doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine.7 8

The studies found that students who received three doses of MMR had a lower mumps infection rate than those who received only two doses of the vaccine. The 2012 study concluded that, “a third dose of MMR vaccine may help control mumps outbreaks among populations with preexisting high 2-dose vaccine coverage.”5 The 2017 study concluded that, “a third dose of MMR vaccine improved mumps outbreak control and that waning immunity probably contributed to propagation of the outbreak.”6

So, are we now headed for new government mandates requiring three doses of MMR for children and teenagers in the U.S.? It would appear so. But where will it end? If three is good, then why not four? Five… ? As screenwriter and former psychiatric researcher Barbara Benedek once said, “More isn’t always better. Sometimes it’s just more.”9 10

It is already suspected that one of the causes of the mumps outbreaks has to do with waning immunity. As Paul Offit, MD has noted, “The most likely reason for these outbreaks is that vaccine immunity is fading.”11 How do we know that a third shot of MMR will make any difference—that it will effectively address the problem of waning immunity? How do we know that a third shot will not, in fact, aggravate the problem by accelerating the evolution of the mumps virus, making the MMR vaccine even less effective with each dose given?

As Joseph Mercola, DO has observed, the “mumps virus may be evolving in response to mass vaccination campaigns, much in the same way that bacteria have evolved in response to excessive use of antibiotics.”12

The answer is we don’t know what impact a third dose of MMR will have. Despite the conclusions of the two studies previously cited, we cannot know because it has not been scientifically proven how effective the MMR vaccine is with regard to mumps in the first place. According to Janell Routh, MD of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “We don’t know the level of antibody required to stop a case of mumps in a person, so that question of knowing if the vaccine works less well over time is something we’re still working to investigate.”11

In other words, there is a huge gap in our scientific knowledge about the effect of the MMR vaccine on mumps. And, yet, there is this apparent gravitational push toward requiring a third MMR for this disease. This definitely has the feel of perseveration. Insanity?

  1. Based on a qui tam lawsuit filed against Merck, the mumps component in the Merck’s M-M-R(R) II vaccine is no longer effective & Merck has acted to intentionally falsify the “efficacy” data of the mumps component for more than a decade (see: http://www.rescuepost.com/files/59-opinion.pdf and http://www.vaccinationcouncil.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/2010-rabbit-info-suit.pdf).

Since M-M-R II’s mumps component is ineffective, a) more doses will NOT solve the non-efficacy problem but b) more doses will increase the harm to the microbiome.

  2. Thank you for the wonderful work you do at NVIC.
Keep up the good work. The insanity of the whole vaccination requirements is a very dangerous symptom of the whole “Big Pharm” holocaust.

  3. The drug companies want to make a LOT of money and they will lobby (pay off) the weak people they need to in Wash. and at the CDC to get what they want. It is criminal that there has never been a side by side study done to check the results between a vaccinated and non-vaccinated children. The questions go on and on but why do they feel the need to force feed those of us who choose freedom vs. mandated vaccinations? If vaccines are so safe and effective, then why are a lot of us who refuse them so healthy? And why are the vaccinated people so worried about us, when they are vaccinated and supposedly protected? They really go after the small children HARD and parents are not educated about the risks involved. Look into the MMR vaccine and once you do that will open your eyes to what a farce this policy is. The CDC covered up and continues to cover up the dangers of this triple dose vaccine. They are Criminals!

    1. “why do they feel the need to force feed those of us who choose freedom vs. mandated vaccinations?”

      One word: money.

“why are the vaccinated people so worried about us, when they are vaccinated and supposedly protected?”

The latest talking point is that they’re worried about the immuno-compromised who cannot be vaccinated, thus regurgitating the (debunked) myth of herd immunity. I argued with one woman who was dismayed that I refused to risk my son’s life (by vaccinating him) for the sake of the “herd.” I (couldn’t believe I) had to explain to her that when it came down to choosing between my son and everyone else, my son was WAY more important to me!

  4. This is nuts! If two shots aren’t stopping this then why give a third. In light of the studies of children coming down with autism after these shots I wouldn’t do it.
I worked in health care for 40 years and yes I vaccinated all three of my kids. I wouldn’t do it today.

  5. A third dose would be introduced according to the principle “If something is useless, more of it may be better – or if not better, at least more profitable.”

The medical-pharmaceutical mafia must be held accountable for its crimes against children and humankind or we’ll be history as vaccination programmes are clearly an integral part of the psychopathic elites’ global depopulation agenda.

  6. The crooks will stop at nothing to make a buck. These poisonous vaccines they are perpetrating on the public is insane. With its mercury, aluminum and other poisons in these injections are most harmful to babies and young children and adults of course, later on. Like alzheimers and shingles and who knows what else

  7. The Mumps vaccine has always been the vaccine in the MMR that has had issues with waning efficiency. This isn’t a problem with the measles vaccines, one of the most effective vaccines.

The only problem with the MMR is that of cost with the US single dose cost of about $130. As the Vaccine Reaction is a lover of Andrew Wakefield and Wakefield’s gimmick wasn’t (at the time) against the vaccines, but only on the combination vaccines, you would expect that the push wasn’t to stop vaccination, but to have separate vaccine for mumps if needed. The problem, of course, is that a separate vaccine for mumps would increase the chances of the ill-informed not getting their children the measles vaccine and measles being more dangerous than the mumps.

    1. I find it laughable that you cling to the notion that a vaccine once heralded to “eliminate measles from the Earth”. Now needs yet another dose to be administered to hapless public. It has been successful in eliminating herd immunity which was achieved by getting near life long immunity by catching the disease.

  8. We just received my 18-year-old autistic son’s titer results. Interestingly enough, the mumps titers are low (verifying the ineffectiveness of this component), while the measles titers are through the roof (similar to the findings addressed by Dr. Wakefield, but suppressed by the CDC). I can only imagine the additional injury my beautiful boy would sustain if we bought into the “more is better” big pharma (now doctor perpetuated) mantra. Even if we wanted to take the risk to vaccinate him for the mumps (we don’t), we could not do so without compounding his underlying issues from the measles component. This is just ONE of the many dilemmas our citizens face when dealing wth the “science” of vaccines.

  9. “Impact of a Third Dose of Measles-Mumps-Rubella Vaccine on a Mumps Outbreak”

Am I missing something here? Let me restate this premise.

    “Impact of a Third Dose of a A, B and C Vaccine on a C Outbreak”

    How about this.

“Impact of an additional Dose of Mumps Vaccine on a Mumps Outbreak.”

Why is it so important to inject the three synergistic “vaccines” in the MMR as often as it can be foisted on the public?

The CDC has demonstrated with the Thompson Affair they are LYING about the MMR not being a cause of Autism.

Mothers we cannot accept this tyranny!

  10. The quote was rather more correctly:
“one cannot expect to find the answer to a problem within the matrix which the problem was created”

  11. I want 10 rounds of this to make sure I don’t catch those evil mumps, I’m not scared of the vaccines but I’m scared to death of mumps and measels. Hey, what exactly are mumps and measels again? I don’t know but I’m still scared, because they told me to fear. But wait, I though I might have heard somewhere along the way that most people recover from these pathogens without lasting illness….. It would be nice if the CDC schedule had clear disclosure what is survivable and what is not. I’m unable to make informed consumer decisions as a laymen and there fore opt out of all of it. Know your customer if providing products or watch free market forces drive them elsewhere. It’s simple business not rocket science. The more complicated they make the CDC schedule, the more people will opt out due to simply not being able to be well informed consumers without an increasingly heroic effort and time commitment. You practically have to be an actual doctor yourself these days to be able to possibly feel comfortable complying with vaccination schedules. How about I take none of them instead, and that is what we have done. It’s an ethical consideration for us. Until such time as these companies can be direct, honest, straight forward and transparent, we’re not buying and they can’t make us.
