The Toxic Logic of Water and Applesauce

Helmut R. R. Wakeham, PhD (chemistry) was chief scientist and director of research and development at Philip Morris tobacco company in the 1970s. In 1976, he was interviewed on television by British journalist Peter Taylor of the BBC and asked about the dangers of cigarette smoking, specifically about the harmfulness of the ingredients in cigarettes. In that particular exchange, Dr. Wakeham stated, “None of the things that have been found in tobacco smoke are in concentrations which can be considered harmful.”
NYC Public Schools’ Brewing Fight on Vaccines: My Kid, My Choice
The flu shot might be the one to drive home the fallacy of trying to force thinking parents to take part in something that goes against their common sense. “Don’t tell us how to raise our children,” is what more parents are saying to doctors and public health officials trying to take their parental rights away when it comes to making health care choices for their children. From a report in the New York Post it appears that a sneaky new flu shot mandate in New York City’s public school system is shedding a bright light on that issue. Scheduled to be enforced beginning in January of 2016, the New York City Health Department will require that every child under age five who attends a city school or daycare center must receive either an…
NIH Research: Flu Shots Not Effective in Elderly
An important and definitive “mainstream” government study done nearly a decade ago got little attention because the science came down on the wrong side. It found that, after decades and billions of dollars spent promoting flu shots for the elderly, the mass vaccination program did not result in saving lives. In fact, the death rate among the elderly increased substantially. The authors of the study admitted a bias going into the study. Here was the history as described to me: Public health experts long assumed flu shots were effective in the elderly. But, paradoxically, all the studies done failed to demonstrate a benefit. Instead of considering that they, the experts, could be wrong—instead of believing the scientific data—the public health experts…
Most Americans Believe GMO Foods are Unsafe; They Need Labels to Avoid Them
Health and food safety are hot button issues for millions of Americans—and rightly so. Polls indicate alarm over the contamination of everyday foods by pesticides, antibiotics, hormones, synthetic additives and, especially, genetically modified organisms (GMOs). A recent New York Times poll found that 93% of Americans want GMOs labeled, an action already required by 64 nations. Two-thirds of Americans believe that GMOs are unsafe. Millions of consumers are switching over to non-GMO, organic foods, and as a result…
Awakening to the Culture of Cognitive Dissonance
One of my critical parenting moments happened on an August evening years ago as I was putting my five year-old daughter to sleep. We were lying in bed together under the cool air from the ceiling fan—me silently begging her to relinquish herself to sleep and her holding on to the day and wanting to process her deepest thoughts in this precious, quiet time in the dark—when she asked, “Mommy, is Santa Claus for real?” Now, I’m a psychotherapist accustomed to dealing with all sorts of unexpected stories, and I was well prepared for any number of parenting dilemmas, but I was…
No Medical Exemption for You
When vaccine risks turn out to be 100% for you or your child, you are expected to quietly accept that you are “unavoidable collateral damage” in the war on microorganisms. This cruel utilitarian rationale, also known as “the ends justify the means,” has been used by public health officials and medical trade groups to narrow the medical vaccine exemption, so that, today, almost no medical condition qualifies as an official reason for a doctor to grant someone a medical exemption to vaccination. At the same time, there are no good biological mechanism studies or large clinical trials validating the…
Americans are Talking About Vaccines
How many mothers do not witness a child’s vaccine reaction and never understand why their children whose physical, mental and emotional health suddenly regressed after vaccination? How many of those children are filling the special education classrooms, doctors offices, mental health facilities, and prisons in America? What happened to my healthy son after vaccination in 1980 sent me on a journey to learn more and find out why doctors are not talking about vaccine risks, and why a commercial product that can brain damage and kill people…
Herd Immunity: Truth or Lie?

I remember when it all started. 1978—two years after high school. While I was riding the subway to college or to work, I would see the billboards and signs—No Shots, No School! I remember asking myself, “Why would anyone not want to vaccinate their children? How many crazy people are there in this world?” And I was totally disgusted with the fact that such irresponsible, selfish and most likely stupid people existed. Fast forward ten years to the vaccine injuries of my first child and, not right away, but after years of research, investigation and exhaustive reading, I answered the questions about why anyone would not want to vaccinate their children. And those reasons were scientifically valid and morally responsible.
Oh Sanjay…

Watch the following video: “Gupta fact-checks vaccine comments by Trump, Carson”. It’s a TV commentary by CNN’s Sanjay Gupta regarding the comments made by Ben Carson, Donald Trump and Rand Paul during the second Republican presidential primary debate on September 16, 2015. Now remember, Gupta is an Emmy-award winning chief medical correspondent for CNN. The man was once offered the post of Surgeon General of the United States in the first Obama administration, but he turned it down. His credentials are so stellar that he actually said no thanks to Surgeon General.
Never Put Yourself Between a Mother and Her Baby
Years ago my grandfather and uncle were fishing in the Yellowstone River in Montana. Wearing overall type waders, my grandfather was able to stand in waist-high water in the center of the river, while my uncle fished from the bank. My grandfather, focused on casting his rod and keeping his balance in the fast moving water, didn’t notice that upstream from him a mama bear and her two cubs had begun to cross the river. Being lighter, the current carried the little ones downstream faster than the mama, which quickly placed my grandfather between them and their protector.
