Larry Lowe, a 54-year-old resident of Omagh, Northern Ireland, experienced facial paralysis after receiving the Pfizer/BioNTech’s Comirnaty mRNA COVID-19 shot on Dec. 15, 2021. Prior to getting vaccinated, Lowe was healthy and physically active. Shortly after he receiving the shot, he developed numbness on the right side of his face and persistent pain. “I had lost all the feeling in my face, teeth, nose, tongue, eye, that whole side of my head,” Lowe said.1
The symptoms worsened, resulting in Lowe’s retirement from his job as a college lecturer.
In May 2023, medical specialists at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, England concluded that Lowe’s symptoms were likely associated with the COVID shot. A neurologist diagnosed Lowe with painful trigeminal neuropathy, attributing the condition to the shot being misidentified by his body as a toxin, leading to facial nerve damage.2 Lowe said:
My wife and I were sitting in this little room in Westminster with consultants telling me the vaccine had destroyed the nerve on the right side of my face, and it was highly unlikely that I would ever recover from it.3
Lowe’s health issues have had a considerable effect on his daily life. He now experiences dry eye syndrome and heightened sensitivity to light, necessitating the use of sunglasses. Lowe described the sensation of his condition as feeling like “a clamp on both sides of my head, squeezing it all the time.” He expressed concerns about the future, stating:
I struggle when I think about what another 10 years is going to do to me, because in the three years roughly that I’ve had this, it’s destroyed me and it’s getting worse.4
Lowe’s wife Gini said that that their previously normal life has been significantly disrupted by her husband’s condition. She noted that nights are particularly difficult as her husband often screams and cries in pain. “We have lost part of Larry, and that’s hard to take,” she said.5
Pfizer Asserts No Causal Link to Adverse Effects
In response to Lowe’s case, a spokesperson from Pfizer, Inc. said:
Patient safety is paramount, and we take any reports of adverse events very seriously. Adverse event reports do not imply causality, and in the context of vaccination such events may be unrelated to administration of the vaccine.6
Lowe Advocates for the Recognition of Vaccine Injuries
Lowe has advocated for greater awareness and recognition of vaccine-related injuries, highlighting the need for understanding from both the medical community and the public. He expressed concerns that such cases are often not taken seriously, complicating access to necessary support and medical care. “I want someone to recognize that the vaccine has done this,” Lowe said.7
Lowe emphasizes that he was previously an advocate for vaccinations. He hopes sharing his story will increase awareness of the potential adverse effects associated with COVID shots.8

It’s one of the real but not rare vaccine injuries. Everything he has been experiencing is real. I hope everyone wakes up and just do the research. It’s that simple.
Every one of my friends/family who received the vaccine is dealing with new health problems since: diabetes, lupus, liver failure, hepatitis, neuropathy, repeated bouts of “covid”…the list goes on. People who were in exceptional health beforehand. Guess how many have traced their illnesses to the vaccine…one. It is just terrible.
