In 2021, during the height of the pandemic, COVID numbers were high, masks were a new norm, and the vaccine was given across the country. For military members, they were required to get the COVID-19 shots. Some asked for religious exemptions and dozens of Navy Seals filed a lawsuit against President Biden, the Department of Defense and other military leaders. The case has been going on since November of 2021. The emphasized religious freedom and how the policy caused adverse actions in their careers, including involuntary separation, removal from promotion and loss of special pay.
