In 1986, President Ronald Reagan signed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act into law, inadvertently setting the table for the pharmaceutical industry to become the most influential industry on earth. But that isn’t the whole story. Barbara Loe Fisher, a pioneer of the vaccine injury awareness movement, was at the table, fighting for families and children as this controversial law took form. Listen to Barbara as she tells the untold story of the 1986 Act and how it came to be. Learn the betrayal that paved the way for vaccine manufacturers to secure immunity from liability for their products, opening the door for the complete capture of the agencies charged with regulating the vaccine industry and protecting the public trust.

This is one of the greatest modern-day David and Goliath stories that hasn’t yet culminated. These are different times from the early to mid-’80s. Back then, vaxes sometimes were pulled off the market as deadly (swine flu of 1976, DPT, and oral polio, or OPV for a period of time). Back then, there was no need to be an anti-vaxxer, as I am since 1990, Desert Storm. Back then, no gov entity had the right to force vax anyone, except the military where vax exemptions are still poo-poo-ed, resulting in discharge. The military is where I received my life-threatening “cocktail” vaxes, which ended my Reserve and civilian careers: too many vaxes at one time, too close together, with blatant disregard for recent illness or hospitalization, and disregard for female gender. The vets’ offices are where my dogs that passed prematurely received their death vaxes. I think we need to keep 1986 Act because vax-u-facturers “stipulated” that design / manufacturing processes were “unsafe”. The 2011 SCOTUS case, Bruesewitz v. Wyeth LLC, further anchored vax-u-facturers so that they can never deny the “killer” components of ALL vaxes, which are “unavoidably unsafe”. The SCOTUS decision was disastrous for vax injured, and just proves we need to keep vax issues / decisions at the state level. We need more docs / attorneys to chip away at the unsavory protections against all liability in both the Act and the SCOTUS appeal. We need people to educate themselves and understand the vast difference between 1.) me, a staunch anti-vaxer and conspiracy theorist, and 2.) the health freedom leaders, such as Barbara Loe Fisher, who merely want to educate parents about exemptions, adverse effects, and all avenues of legal recourse for vax injury and vax death of their children. Education of the closed-minded is time consuming and exhausting.
I’m so grateful for NVIC. Barbra you are a true hero. You speak so eloquently and are so passionate about this subject. Thank you for all you do and continue to do. Thank you Del Bigtree for an amazing interview.
“Never was humanity cursed by a blacker superstition than this, that disease can be cured and health maintained by the absorption of virulent poisons. Rational therapeutics will always eliminate morbid matter, not introduce it into the system” A quote by Henry Lindlahr M.D

But does the Act indemnify them from intentional fraud?
