On Feb. 2, 2021, the U.S. non-profit charity the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) opened the Fifth International Public Conference on Vaccination: Protecting Health and Autonomy in the 21^st Century for free online viewing. The 39-year old educational organization sponsored the three-day digital pay-for-view public conference in October 2020, which features video presentations by 51 speakers from the United States and other countries discussing vaccine science, public health policy and law, informed consent and civil liberties.

Originally scheduled to be held in a Washington, DC area hotel, NVIC pivoted to producing a digital conference in the spring of 2020 after travel and social distancing restrictions were implemented in the U.S. and other countries. Established in 1982 by parents of DPT vaccine injured children, the small charity previously sponsored four public conferences on vaccination held in Washington, DC area hotels in 1997, 2000, 2002 and 2009, which also featured presentations by scientists, physicians, holistic health professionals, attorneys, journalists, consumers and civil and human rights activists.

Response to False and Misleading Information About NVIC’s Conference

NVIC is making the conference available for free global viewing following the publishing of false and misleading information about the conference by a political operative associated with the socialist Labour Party in Great Britain, who is CEO of a British company pressuring corporations and governments to remove certain individuals and organizations from social media platforms on the Internet. The misinformation about NVIC’s conference was spread by mainline media outlets in the U.K. and U.S. and, on Feb. 2, 2021, Fisher published a response to calls for censorship of NVIC’s information in a referenced commentary.

The co-founders of NVIC worked with Congress to secure vaccine safety informing, recording, reporting and research provisions in the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 and has monitored vaccine development, regulation, policy, law and ethics in the U.S. for the past four decades. NVIC does not make vaccine use recommendations and advocates for the inclusion of flexible medical, religious and conscientious belief vaccine exemptions in public health policies and laws.
