Virginia Health Commissioner Wants to Mandate COVID-19 Vaccine

Virginia Health Commissioner Wants to Mandate COVID-19 Vaccine

Virginia’s Commissioner of Health Dr. Norman Oliver, MD said on Aug. 21, 2020 that he intends to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations for all residents of Virginia as soon as a vaccine is available. “[Coronavirus] is killing people now, we don’t have a treatment for it and if we develop a vaccine that can prevent it from spreading in the community we will save hundreds and hundreds of lives,” Dr. Oliver said.1 2 3

According to Virginia law, the state health commissioner has the authority to mandate vaccinations during a public health crisis if a vaccine is available.1 2 3 However, there is growing concern in Virginia over the idea of forcing people to get a COVID-1- shot or any vaccination against their will.

“This is not a Republican or Democrat issue. It’s not a pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine issue,” says, Kathleen Medaries, Director of Communications for the non-profit Virginia Freedom Keepers. “[Dr. Oliver] shouldn’t be the one person to make a decision for all Virginians.”1 3 4

VA Governor May or May Not Support a COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

Despite Dr. Oliver’s support for mandating a COVID-19 vaccine for Virginia, the position of the state’s Governor is unclear. On Aug. 24, Alena Yarmosky, spokesperson for Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, MD said the state’s physician Governor has no plans to mandate a COVID-19 vaccine in Virginia.5

In a public statement, Yarmosky said:

We are focused on accessibility, affordability, and fair distribution of a vaccine—not on a mandate. … When a vaccine becomes available, we’re confident that Virginians will seek it out. That’s why we don’t have plans for a mandate.4

Maria Reppas, spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) sought to clarify Dr. Oliver’s position, pointing out that, “When Dr. Oliver spoke of his support of a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine for adults, he was sharing his personal opinion as a physician.”5 She said that, “Currently, the Northam administration has taken no official policy position on whether or not a COVID-19 vaccine for adults should be mandatory. VDH regrets this error.5

Lois Shepherd, JD, professor of Law and Biomedical Ethics at the University of Virginia, said, “The government has broad powers in a public health emergency so that is the key here… would a mandatory vaccine be a reasonable measure to protect the public’s health?” She added, “If there were a mandatory vaccine, that doesn’t mean people would be held down kicking and screaming. It means that there would be some kind of penalty for not getting a vaccine.”5

VA House Committee Rejects Bills to Allow Religious Exemption to COVID-19 Shot

The Virginia Legislature voted this past spring to amend the state’s vaccination laws for daycare and school attendance to automatically mandate that children enrolled in daycare or school receive all current and future vaccines recommended by the federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) after members of the politically appointed Virginia Board of Health vote to add the vaccines to school vaccine mandates.6 7 On Aug. 25, 2020, the Virginia House Committee on Health, Welfare and Institutions rejected bills that would have allowed state residents to opt-out of a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for religious reasons. Delegate Mark Levine (D-Alexandria) said:

I would hope if someone intentionally doesn’t take a vaccine, and contracts this disease, knowingly and intentionally goes out in public, and kills someone, I hope they’re sued for wrongful death, or possibly even criminal penalties. So I certainly don’t want to go in the other direction and make it easier for people to kill people.

VA Families To Hold March Against Mandates in Richmond on Sept. 2

The Virginia Freedom Keepers and other freedom organizations in Virginia plan to hold a protest March Against Mandates in Richmond, Virginia on Sept. 2, 2020 in opposition to current COVID-19 related mandates and any proposed future vaccine mandates. A rally will take place outside the Science Museum in Richmond from 10 a.m. to Noon

Virginia has been under a state of emergency declaration issued by Gov. Northam on Mar. 12, 2020 that has included quarantines, masking requirements and closure of shops, restaurants, schools, offices and other public venues. The protest march event announcement notes that the emergency law permits the Governor and appointed state officials to “unilaterally mandate medical [and] other matters without consulting the will of the people.”8 9 The announcement further states:

Bills to limit the Governor’s power during an emergency—both scope and time—have been ignored. Also, the Health Committee tabled bills that would have ensured Virginians right to delay or decline a COVID shot despite over 12,000 Virginians voicing opposition. The blatant disregard for the will of the people will be addressed by our March Against Mandates.8

This was the plan all along. Millions know this and will NOT accept this. Nice try. This is a hoax from day one. And the comment stating that the people that don’t get vaccinated can “kill” others?….
If the vaccine works, then the vaccinated should be safe, right?

Nope. All doctors and vaccine manufacturers are legally protected from liability related to vaccination. There is no recourse and no recompense for those who subject their citizens to mandatory vaccinations that injure, harm, or kill them.

Even if the vaccine were known to be completely safe, you cannot justify such drastic public health measures to save “hundreds and hundreds” of lives in a population of several million. It is great government overreach.

No one person has the right to make a decision for all people .This is a personal healthcare decision. If someone else chooses to vaccinate then they should no longer be worried as they are protected, if the vaccine is doing its job.

I so totally disagree with mandatory vaccinations. I’m neither for or against vaccines, but believe it’s the right of the person and/or parent of children to weigh the pros and cons and make the decisions for themselves. There has not been enough testing on the proposed vaccines and we do not know what the long term effects could be. The vaccines could be causing greater harm than good, so each person needs to be informed and make their own choice.

I fear we are heading down a path of too much government control and not enough common sense.

Forcing people to receive a vaccine that will not be well-tested is likely to do much more harm than good while lining the pockets of the owners of the companies producing the vaccines.

This is absolutely egregious planned action intended in the Great State of Virginia. Forced mandated vaccination of any and all of populace is a violation of our Civil Rights and a violation of the 14th Amendment. ALL elected officials should be removed from office for their repugnant stance in opposition of the voice and will of the people opposing this mandate and/or of any vaccine much less an unproven unsafe vaccine such as CoVid-19. It is obvious that these politicians are lining their pockets with ill gained profits from the rapidly produced vaccine while embracing the Bill Gates Foundation Event 201 Depopulation Agenda, Rockefeller Plandemic Agenda, and the proposed Digital 2020 ID. This Totalitarian Agenda must be quashed as a very bad idea. “We the People” must resist the radical agenda of the extreme leftists who refuse to adhere to and acknowledge our United States Constitutional Rights, our Civil Rights, our inalienable rights, our personal sovereignty, our Bill of Rights, pursuant to their goals of Anti-American NWO Globalist Agenda. The Governing Powers that be, work for “We the People” paid for by our taxes, lest they forget. These radicals must be held accountable and not given indemnity for a deadly vaccine, that will affect and change forever our DNA, RNA, with fetal cells, animal cells, toxins, poisons, bacteria, a GMO purposed vaccine. NO THANK YOU. “We the People” MUST STOP DEPOPULATION AGENDA 2020 ID VACCINE, for Covid 19.

Unfortunate that the vaccine makers won’t have to prove the vaccine actually will save “ hundreds and hundreds of lives”, merely referring to a dictionary for the definition of a vaccine will suffice. But alas, Virginia has the government that they deserve…

“…About half-way down the screen page The Center for Health Statistics August 26, 2020 update on provisional death counts for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) states the following: “For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned….Translation: of the 161,392 accumulated COVID-19 RELATED deaths reported as of August 22, 2020 (80% being among Americans age 75 and older), only 6% or ~9683 accumulated deaths were classified as COVID-19 only. Among these COVID-19 only deaths, ~60% were age 75 and older; 80% were age 65 and older. So, there were only ~2000 COVID-only deaths in working age adults and school-age children.,,Overkill…Lockdowns, quarantines, social distancing and face masks were an overkill, permanently destroying lives as businesses went bankrupt and the future of young Americans were quashed…Americans over age 75 who have co-morbid conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, obesity and heart disease who died with COVID-19 lung infection in addition to their comorbid conditions would probably have been on their deathbeds regardless of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

Gov. Northam and his supporters in the Legislature should be first in line to jab themselves and their children with mandated vaccines. Then wait 2-3 years to assess unforeseen and regrettable consequences. This quote from a recent article gives one pause to accept any vaccine mandate:

“Fauci insists he will not approve HCQ for COVID until its efficacy is proven in ‘randomized, double blind placebo studies.’ To date, Dr. Fauci has never advocated such studies for any of the 72 vaccine doses added to the mandatory childhood schedule since he took over NIAID in 1984. Nor is he requiring them for the COVID vaccines currently racing for approval.”

How dare anyone think they can inject a human being with a substance that may cause permanent harm to his body. And the pharmaceutical company who produces this serum cannot be held liable for any resulting health issues. Nazi-Germany comes to mind. I sure hope that the Health Commissioner and/or the Governor can be held personally liable for any damage if they decide to put restrictions on ones living conditions in order to force people to get vaccinated.
The only reason for a mandate like that is to provide more money for the producers of the vaccine and their sponsors. If nothing else then they should let the people who want to, get their shots, wait a few months and see what percentage of the population got inoculated and how the virus situation is over all. And then re-consider whether other measures for getting people vaccinated need to be discussed.

Such idiocy from a politician! You cannot prove that someone “killed” another with “con-vid” just because they did not get a vaccination. He is demonizing and polarizing those who stand for medical freedom and sovereign liberty over their own bodies. And in a state that proclaims, “Thus always to tyrants!” –such irony. The people in Virginia and California had better rally their local sheriffs to stand up for them, or this despotic lunacy will spread to all of the states. They are holding the people captive in lockdown to wear them down enough to submit to a vaccine. This is criminal!

We have a right to our own bodies and the right to make our own decisions concerning what we can and can not allow in them. One size does NOT fit all.Plus we do have rights and we choose to stand and fight for them! Its wrong that one person decides for so many on such a serious health issue and everyone having the shot lives out the consequences of it wether good or bad.

We have to all stop mixing politics to this situation, even though I agree that it has been used to advance political agenda. Freedon is freedom no matter who you vote for, but at least in this forum we all need to stop pointing fingers to political parties and more importantly stop the name calling. We all have to remember that these people: governors, senators, representatives, presidents and so on are elected by the people and if we do not voice our concerns and follow our own heart (not a party line), they will not stop because so far EVERYONE has been very ill advised in this pandemy and on an even more dangerous level they are all trying to polarize and politicize an issue that should not be.

According to the CDC, less than 10% of the coronovirus deaths have been corona only, without comorbidity coupled with it (over 90%). Millions have tested positive without anything more than mild symptoms, so herd immunity is already working without the horribly-damaging side effects of vaccines.
