Why Lockdowns are the Wrong Policy | Johan Giesecke, MD

The Swedish government decided early, in January, that the measures we should take against the [COVID-19] pandemic should be evidence-based. And when you start looking around at the measures that are being taken now by different countries, you find that very few of them have a shred of evidence base. But one we know that’s been known for 150 years or more and that is washing your hands is good for you and for others when you’re in an epidemic. But the rest, like border closures, school closures, social distancing… there’s almost no science behind most of these.

  1. Something Swedes do really well: Get their children vaccinated! 97% of Swedish children are vaccinated for measles.

      1. Alan, I think you are jumping to conclusions. She stated a fact, not an opinion. I would interpret it the opposite as you did. She thinks it’s a bad idea. Who’s right? Who cares!

      2. I’d call that compliance really well, not wisdom really well. Keep in mind that Sweden is one of the most oppressive when it comes to homeschooling. They will take a child away from his parents and keep him for that reason. I tend to agree with their policy regarding the virus, but I am anything BUT in agreement with them on these other issues.

  2. the reason for lockdowns is simple….the US government wants to re-train Americans to comply with BS orders. You get the freedom your government wants you to have. This is about vaccinations for everyone. MANDATING MEDICINE. This is about bankrupting Americans to create the hungry masses to do whatever their govt. tells them. It is about creating a one-world govt. which will screw everyone. See: Dr. Andrew Kaufman videos on coronavirus, see Corbett Report. there are others too.

  3. His relaxed attitude was refreshing given the current hysteria being pushed in the US.

My understanding is that social isolation works only to slow the rate of the disease at any given moment, but not the totals in the long run. The biggest thing to know is that over 80 % of people incontact with the illness will develop immunity to it.

Thomas Cowan, MD is the most clear on this issue of contagion–it is an energetic exchange which is how the body and society will be able to adapt to a new toxin, the true source of the illness. He notes that every major pandemic in history was accompanied by a new form of radiation that blanketed the earth. As people developed immunity it changed the human species, hopefully giving it more strength. Viruses are not contagious agents; they are the janitors of toxic metals and poisons in our body and not organisms that exchange with other people. This is a very new idea for more people in this country and they will fight it.

  4. There is definitely evidence that quarantine reduces transmission. Locking down a population definitely reduces further transmission. I don’t even understand how people are saying “there’s no evidence”. And what kind of evidence do you want to look for? There is plenty of evidence that vaccines are safe and effective, but we know how that goes. I’m not sure this is the correct bandwagon to jump on for the vaccine choice movement. If you want to argue that quarantine isn’t going to reduce transmission then that’s an argument for forced vaccination. Beware.

  5. There’s actually NO evidence that vaccines are safe and effective. In fact, the CDC has just recently been sued for failing to carry out any of the required biannual safety testing of vaccines for the past 32 years. So, if no safety testing carried out, the. They are NOT proven safe or effective.
